Ms. Tamanini to Chair the Business Opportunities and Commercial Law Committee of the ABA's GP-Solo Division
 
Incoming American Bar Association GP-Solo Division Chair Laura Farber has named Jan Matthew Tamanini to chair the Division's Business Opportunities and Commercial Law Committee for the 2011-2012 year, beginning in September 2011.
 
Domestic Violence Services of Cumberland & Perry Counties Names Jan Matthew Tamanini to Board
 
Ms. Tamanini will serve on the DVS-CP Board as well as its Fund-Raising and Marketing Committees for a three-year term, effective from September of 2011 through August of 2014. The organization provides round-the-clock services and support to individuals and families experiencing domestic violence and promotes domestic violence awareness and social and systems change through education and advocacy in the community.


Ms. Tamanini named to expert panels by two national organizations

Affluent Magazine has named Ms. Tamanini as the tenth expert member in its "Coaches Corner" on the magazine's website. Ms. Tamanini's first Coaches Corner article, Planning for the Unplanned: Are You Prepared? appears on the magazine's website at http://tinyurl.com/l4364s. Affluent's credo is that being affluent "isn't about how much you have; it's what you do with it."

Ms. Tamanini spoke about Business Insurance Basics at the Mechanicsburg Business Women's July 2011 meeting.
 
Ms. Tamanini was a featured presenter at the Business Women's Forum on April 28, 2011, at the Radisson Penn Harris, presenting CONTRACTS: The good, the bad, & the ugly to the attendees. The session discussed what terms may be danger signals in contracts from others, what terms you should include in your contracts, why “putting it in writing” is essential in even simple business relationships, and how to ensure that your contracts don’t come back to haunt you in disputes.
 
Jan Matthew Tamanini spoke about Planning for the Unplanned to the attendees at POWER Network Expo 2010 at the Eisenhower Conference Center in Gettysburg. The event was dedicated to helping women in business. 
 
JMT Law, LLC, was recognized for her service to PIBH at the 2011 Nettie Mann Awards dinner. PIBH, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing work opportunities to the severely disabled, hosts the annual event, honoring disabled workers in PIBH's Community Rehabilitation Programs statewide. 
 
Ms. Tamanini was the speaker at the Harrisburg Business Women's April 2010 networking luncheon at the Spring Garden Conference Center. She talked with the attendees about the importance of business contingency plans.
 
In May 2009, Ms. Tamanini was the featured speaker for a nationwide teleconference of Ladies Who Launch incubator leaders on the legal basics all entrepreneurs should consider to protect their businesses.
 
Ms. Tamanini was featured as a presenter at Ladies Who Launch: Harrisburg Live! in 2008. Her topic, Business Law for Launchers, covered legal considerations for those involved in starting and maintaining their own small businesses.
